Islamic Committee on Girl Scouting

Formed in Stamford, Connecticut in 1988, the Islamic Committee on Girl Scouting presents Girl Scouts of the Islamic Faith their Religious Recognition Awards. The committee has developed a program that includes a booklet of Islamic and Scouting activities and presents medals named:

The Girl Scouts of the United States of America (G.S.U.S.A.) works with many religious groups to bring such awards to girls from different spiritual backgrounds. The Religious Recognition Awards offered by the ICGS is approved by both the G.S.U.S.A. and by W.A.G.G.S. (World Association of Girl Guides and Scouts). Muslim girls all over the world, including the U.S.A., are working on these awards and are, Alhamdolillah, benefiting from the Islamic scouting experience.
